Chidi Nwaubani

Chidi Nwaubani is a Nigerian–British artist whose work explores the intersections between digital and physical worlds, blending cultural heritage with technologies such as NFTs. His practice engages with questions of ownership and restitution, using immersive 3D environments to challenge museum narratives and imagine new forms of access to African artefacts.
His work was presented in New Afro’s exhibition Restitution… et après ? in 2024 at the Institut Français, where he showcased his project Looty. Through this installation, Nwaubani digitally reappropriates the Benin Bronzes from a London collection, proposing a form of virtual restitution.
