Eveline Soum

Eveline Soum

Eveline Soum is a Burkina Faso born multidisciplinary artist based in Arles, whose work explores identity, heritage, and memory through contemporary visual practices, reflecting on the ways cultural narratives are shaped and transformed.

She participated in New Afro's exhibition Naza Po Tozali… On The Way To Find Myself (2025) at the Institut Français Mainz, where she presented Peogo. Through this project, Soum engages with a Burkinabè marital tradition, the basket offered to a woman during marriage (Peogo), questioning the place of women between patriarchal heritage and contemporary aspirations. Untitled, her images invite viewers to project their own interpretations and emotions.
