Jean-Baptiste Joire

Jean-Baptiste Joire, born in 1982 in the Paris region, pursued film studies before moving to Dakar, Senegal, in 2013. His camera and photography equipment became his constant companions as he explored the streets of the city, using these mediums to convey his encounters and reflections on society. His work has since been exhibited across Europe and Africa.

In discussing his move to Senegal, Jean-Baptiste highlighted the ease with which one can connect with people in the country, noting its openness and the warm welcome he received.
While recognizing the country's reputation for hospitality, he pointed out that Dakar’s vibrant colors had a profound influence on his artistic process.
